The most reliable are the atmospheric petrol engines 1.4 (59 kW) and 1.6 (75 kW), suitable especially for city driving and drivers who do not mind the car's more limited dynamics. A frequent plus is the low mileage. Less pleasing is the poorer equipment and the missing 6th gear on the highway.

For those who prefer longer distances, they can consider the 1.6/2.0 TDI diesel engines. However, it is necessary to consider higher maintenance costs, greater mileage and wear - these are often former company cars. On the other hand, users will be pleased with the low consumption and pleasant flexibility of the engine.

Skoda Octavia III

Toyota is known for its reliability. The Avensis, which is often unjustly overlooked as a car that has a lot to offer to many interested parties. Practicality and reliability are at a high level. However, the build quality has declined compared to the previous model and it is no longer called the "Asian Mercedes" among fans.

Of the petrol engines, the 1.8 is recommended, which has almost the same consumption as the weaker 1.6, but offers better performance. The problem is that there are not many cars on offer with this engine. The two-litre is not such a good choice, because its dynamics are not much better, while consumption is significantly higher.

The Mazda 6 is an exceptional car that, in combination with any gasoline engine, offers a great and reliable companion for everyday use. The design is attractive and the driving characteristics in this class are excellent. It is no wonder that some journalists said that it drives like a BMW 3 with front-wheel drive. Naturally aspirated engines may not suit everyone (weaker thrust at lower speeds), but their reliability is excellent and the linear thrust will please many car fans. The cheaper materials used in the interior are sometimes a bit disappointing. The previous generation suffered from corrosion, but we still recommend being careful when buying.

The weakest petrol engine, the 1.8, is suitable for city driving, but the combination of a 5-speed gearbox and 88 kW is not ideal for long motorway journeys. On the other hand, it pleases with excellent consumption (combined around 7 liters).
