Moisture trapped in the bodywork can cause corrosion, while the interior, including the carpets, can suffer from mold. In short, there are more than enough reasons to be concerned.<\/strong> How to avoid buying a flooded car?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The various tricks of second-hand car dealers come in many forms, and those interested in used cars must be very vigilant. It is important to remember that there are almost half a million cars on our roads that have been sold to unsuspecting customers with false documents, altered identification data or altered mileage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step is to choose the right used car dealership, as not all establishments act with due seriousness. "Yes, these errors always appear on these cars when they have been sitting in our garage for a while and the battery is disconnected. Water, mud and what else?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

However, water and mud get everywhere. It gets behind the plastic pillar covers, behind all the seals, under the seats, behind the carpets, even into the dashboard and under the pedals. So all you have to do is carefully examine everywhere, including the door seals, the trunk and deep inside the dashboard. The condition of the headliner is often a good indicator - it often peels off and turns brown after complete flooding. It is much more difficult to clean than the seats and carpets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without major repairs, a flooded car cannot be operated without problems. Realistically, it will only be suitable for obtaining spare parts or for rebuilding. In such cases, it is necessary to completely disassemble the vehicle and examine how far the water and mud have penetrated, including the engine and drive components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some skilled individuals who are able to do mechanical work themselves may specifically look for washed-out vehicles. Even interesting sports cars or cars with exceptional features are affected by floods. A washed-out car can serve as a source of spare parts for another car. However, this will probably be its only useful purpose. If you would rather drive and use the car normally, a washed-out vehicle would probably be more of a nuisance.
