Whether you buy a used car from a used car dealer or from a private seller, there are a number of traps waiting for you. A small accident here is ignored, a larger defect there is hidden, but you can also come across outright fraud. Jsuch as a reversed speedometer, a rejuvenated or even stolen car. Buying a used car is a fairly simple and quick process these days, and we should be even more careful about what and where we buy so that the joy of our newly purchased car is not spoiled by the first visit to the service station. Choosing the wrong part can be quite painful, especially for your wallet. So why is a car inspection before buying so important?

A domestic company would like to change this Automatic, which aims to lend a helping hand to those who do not want to take risks when buying a car. And they also want to be sure that their purchase of a used car will not end in financial suicide. If you want to check your desired car today, whether at a used car dealership or at a private seller, we have few options. You can go to the nearest car service and ask the mechanic to come check the car with you. To which you will usually get the answer “yes sir, at least in 14 days”. The second option is to find a mechanic near the point of sale and have the car checked by him. 

Neither option is very attractive to the buyer. The entire process of arranging an inspection is on the customer's shoulders, and even the subsequent process of checking the car will be without any rules or proven procedures. Lukáš Kazda, Michael Kazda and Lukáš Satrapa thought about this problem two years ago and started working on a platform that would help everyone who wants to be sure when buying a used car. 

Why Automato for physical vehicle inspection?

"Automatic actually combines two words, car and automation. And I think this exactly describes our platform. We want to offer our customers the best services that revolve around cars, all in digital form and as automated as possible. That is why we are also developing our own systems and thanks to them we can offer customers, for example, our online report, where you can conveniently view the inspection result on your computer or phone, including all photos and videos.” says Lukas Satrapa. 

Automatic currently has more than forty technicians in the Czech Republic, so it is not a problem to check any car within the second day of ordering. In the first year of its operation, more than a thousand cars passed through their hands and are currently launching their services in our neighbors in Slovakia, where they already have more than twenty of their own technicians. The two countries will soon be connected and it will be possible to conveniently order a car inspection in Slovakia as well, and Slovaks will be able to order inspections in the Czech Republic.  

"Our goal is to offer all customers the same service, with the same quality and under the same time conditions. This means that currently there is no difference whether the car being inspected is parked in a large car dealership in Prague or in a small village in Slovakia and sold by a private individual. We will inspect both cars with the same quality, even tomorrow and without additional charges for distance." says Lukas Kazda.

How does the pre-purchase inspection work? 

On the website www.iautomato.de you simply choose what kind of vehicle it is (Automato can check not only passenger cars but also motorbikes or caravans). You choose whether you want to be at the inspection with a technician or leave the entire inspection to Automato and select the location of the car. Automato only needs the city where the car is parked. That's all. In a few minutes, your personal technician will call you and you can handle the entire pre-purchase inspection of the car with him. After a successful inspection, Automato always sends its customers a link to their online report, where you can find out the details of the inspection and all the defects and defects that the technician discovered on the car. The report also contains complete photo documentation. If you choose an inspection without your participation, it also includes a video inspection of the inspected car. All that follows is a consultation with the technician and his recommendation for subsequent service.

 "Part of the inspection is negotiating the price of the car. First, we thoroughly inspect the car, find negotiating arguments, and then we negotiate the price for our customer. We are usually successful and are able to negotiate a better price for our customer. Theoretically, the customer gets the entire inspection for free and still has money left over for a nice dinner," says Michael Kazda with a smile.    

The platform wants to increasingly rely on the latest technologies, such as digitalization and automation, to improve its services and make them more accessible and easier for everyone. In the near future, Automato will add services related to car financing and insurance, becoming a comprehensive service for customers purchasing a used car.  

"We want our customers to not have an unpleasant experience buying a used car, but a fun and enjoyable one. It would be great if I could solve everything related to buying a new car with one partner who I could 100% rely on, who is on my side and not on the dealer's side." adds Lukáš Kazda.  

What does Automato offer?

Automato mainly offers safe and simple used car purchases. 

There are actually two types of customers who Automatic they turn. The first and probably most common model is that the customer has already selected a specific car and is looking for a reliable partner to physically inspect it. In this case, Automato can send a technician the second day after ordering and give the car a thorough check. Not only does the customer receive a complete physical inspection, which is guided by clearly defined standards. But Automato also represents the customer in negotiating the price and the customer receives a lot of personal advice from the technician on how to proceed and what kind of subsequent service they can expect. 

The second type of customer is someone who needs help with choosing the right car. Automato also offers the “Vehicle Selection Assistance” service, in which the customer is assigned a personal specialist who will guide them through the entire process. They will help the customer choose the type, brand, and model, and then the specific items that are currently on sale. They will then select one or more items with the customer, and they will undergo a history check and a physical inspection. This way, the customer can be sure that they have not neglected anything and have done their best to choose the best car that is right for them. 

 "It may not seem like it, but choosing the right car is sometimes quite a chore. The first thing we find out is what the customer uses the car for, how often and for how long will they drive it, and what and who will they transport. What is the customer's financial plan and whether they have any specific requirements," adds Michael Kazda..

Automato wants to become the largest provider of physical vehicle quality verification on the European market. Meeting this challenge will certainly not be easy, but it is already well on its way. During its first year, it managed to establish itself on the Czech market and is now heading to our neighbors in Slovakia.
